Somebody's stirring a pan, somebody else has abandoned a maths worksheet on the island, a toddler's rifling through a drawer for a biscuit, and a fourth person is trying to unload the dishwasher without losing a foot. That's the real test for family kitchen design in London homes: not whether it looks good in photos, but whether it can host four different jobs at once without anyone getting under anyone else's feet. A nicer worktop or a bigger fridge won't fix that on its own. What actually solves it is a layout, a storage plan and a set of finishes chosen with that chaos in mind from day one.
