2. As soon as you have determined the design you can then select the colours that you would like to use. Several designs have specific colour schemes but with others you can pick any palette you want.

There are also online alternatives like eBay and Craigslist. You can get some excellent purchases if you know how to avoid the junk.
Look carefully at items of furniture. If they have drawers open them to see if they slide well or stick. If it's a wooden thing, look for signs of rot or insect activity. With metal pieces you need to look for rust. Don't ignore an item because it looks battered and sad. If it looks sound, it may need some TLC to look beautiful.
Much that applies to furniture appliances too. They can be sourced from the same places and in the same ways. Of course, with equipment one has to make sure that they work. The drawbacks of used appliances as opposed to new ones is that they're very unlikely to be covered by a warranty or guarantee and delivery and installment may well not be options either.
